ParticipantHello my Whirlpool adg7540 flashes 9 times mid cycle and stops every once in a while and after I clear the fault by depressing the buttons simultaneously it carries on for another couple of weeks and then does it again. does anyone know what the fault is and how I can sort it out?
Thanks

Oh, I hate F9 faults. Technically it’s a runaway fill valve. The computer knows that it’s cut the power to the inlet valve, but it still thinks that it’s filling. This may be caused by continued impulses from the flow meter in the fill matrix (In which case it is still filling and the valve needs replacing) OR it’s getting a late signal from the diaphragm switch in the sump. This is the black grid under the filters and is prone to clogging up with grease and fatty deposits, effectively jamming the switch. Hot water and a good scrubbing with a toothbrush will often solve it – you may need to remove it for proper cleaning if it’s particularly bad. It’s a twist fit from underneath – power off first, please.
The computer could be going wonky as well, but don’t worry about that just yet.

Thanks for your help and support. I have done what you suggested but now the thing runs (makes a noise) and after a couple of minutes it stops and flashes 4 times at me. Any suggestions?

http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Dishwash … witch.htmlNo problems now – turned out to be a slight lose connection within one of the terminal blocks. Thank you all very much for your help and support.
