Remove the left side of the machine, the flowmeter is at the bottom. They are only available with the airbox as an assembly and not cheap.
Check the connection to the reed switch on the flowmeter – they get oxidized and fail. Remove the plug, crimp it tighter with pliers, clean the contact tracks on the reed switch PCB and refit. Worth a try.
Also check the level (or OWI) switch in the sump next to the filter. The black mesh often blocks and disables the switch diaphragm.
