DW stopped responding to start button being pressed ie the indicator light would not do anything, and the machine would not start.

Discovered that the part of the clear plastic actuator assembly over the PCB which switches the start button was broken.

To test if this was definitely the fault and nothing else was wrong, I removed PCB from its case, wired it up, selected a program, pressed the start button (the light went on) and closed the door. No joy, but machine started constant beeping. Checked water supply, reset and tried again but same thing happened.

    My thoughts are:

    1) possibly one or more connectors not seated positively enough due to the outer case not being fitted.

    2) I’ve spiked the board by handling it.

    3) Board needs to be in its case and the case needs to be slotted in its assembled location to work (some kind of arcane, electromagnetic relay assy or something?)

    Any other ideas gratefully received.

Actually I think this must be an F1 error – thermistor. Highly likely it wasn’t hooked up to the PCB well enough.

Yes, definitely was the problem. Now all I have to do is locate the new part
