I have cleaned the filter and checked the spray arm and these are ok. The plastic pipe that comes down the back of the dishwasher and supplies water to the bottom connection often comes out but can be pushed back in. Even when this is in the tablet does not disolve. I have run the machine with the door open and the water supply looks good. The motor does sound a bit noisy during the wash cycle and there is a lot of water on the bottom of the machine.
I am an electricain so can check things electrically and work safely but obviously form my post do not have appliance experience.
    Any suggestions please?

Thanks penguin I have removed the pump. I have read elsewhere that the motor resistance should be 40 ohms. Mine is reading 29.8 does this confirm that the pump is faulty or do I need to check the running current. I just want to try and be sure that this is the problem before ordering a replacement as the unit appears physically to be ok

Changed the pump 6 months ago and everything fine. I now have an f8 error code. Can anyone advise what I need to check.

Water level sensor not working correctly. Remove filters, look into the sump and locate the black grille at the 3 o’clock position. This has probably filled up with congealed fat. You can try using very hot water and an old toothbrush to scrub it out; you may have to remove the unit for closer attention. It’s a twist-fit from underneath. Power off first. It’s possible that the microswitch has failed, seen that one a few times. If the worst comes to the worst, a replacement unit is HERE.

    Re: Whirlpool ADG7960 Not Cleaning

Sorry I never got back but the part recommended is not the right one. I tried to order it. I have had a good look at the Dishwasher and it is not the same as the recommende item. I am now getting the daily “when are you going to fix it from you know who”
I have checked and the machine is clean.
Any further help or advice much appreciated.

    Thanks Raymond

Better give us the “12nc” number from the rating label. I can cross check exactly then.

Interesting…….. It’s one of a family of machines – yours has an Optical Water Indicator, rather than the good old diaphragm switch, so it’s a little different. A double check suggests that the problem is still a water level control issue. I can only suggest that you check that the water wheel in the fill matrix (Remove left hand side panel to view), which may be the culprit. The connector to it suffers from oxidisation issues. A good clean and a pinch of the connector may well do the trick.

Beyond that, I’m rather stumped! 🙁
