    Hi,

I have a new failure on my Whirlpool ADG9540 DishWasher.

When a program is selected, with start on or off, the exit pump is running all the time and no water is coming into the DishWasher.

The Dishwasher has been working normally and then Salt was added, next time wash started the exit pump started and now it runs all the time.

I have cleaned and checked float valve switch and pressure switch, both ok.

There is no water in the bottom and there is no water entering the Dishwasher.

On two occasions the water started coming in after stripping down and refitting, but this stopped after a few seconds.

The Electronics looks ok and does not look burnt

Hope someone can help me please as dishwasher is now 15 years old and not ready to be removed.

    cheers

    Neil

Float switch is operating ok, checked with a multimeter.

I have no fault codes, no flashing I press the button and the light comes on and then press and hold and the light goes off. But no flashing.

Any ideas would be excellent please

It is the pump running all the time that is confusing me, and not water comes into the unit when I select a program.

    cheers

most likely a blown triac in the programmer but you would have to strip timer and test for short circuit
