When I press the start button the machine pumps out for a second then stops. This stop – start can be repeated for a while until the machine pumps out correctly. However, the same thing then happens when it starts to fill. The water runs in for a second and is then stopped before restarting. After a while the machine fills correctly and the program runs.

The green light on the machine mirrors the above stop – starts.

Anyone any ideas on what the cause might be?

Sounds like a classic pcb corruption issue to me. Likely to be very expensive. If you post up the 12nc number (The one that starts with 8), I can identify the part number for you.

Any clues on where to find the 12nc number?

I’ve looked on the edge of the open door and can’t see anything that it might be other than ‘Service 8511 754 15811 36 0343 015590’. All the rest of the numbers appear to be references voltages and power consumption.

Actually, it’s not that bad. The PCB is p/no 4812 218 38209. My tech disc suggests about £75, BUT, it is 2 years old, so there has almost inevitably been a price increase. Contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with the part number for current prices and ordering.

Be very sure that this is what you need – it won’t be a returnable part. You should check under the dishwasher for leaks and burnt wiring, as well as continuity through the heater first.

Stay safe, power off if working on the machine.

    £104.73

    Ouch!

Anyone able to recommend a new, inexpensive replacement for an ADP 4504?
