Whirlpool ADP 5600 PC Dishwasher help needed

Hi.
First timer, so please be gentle.
Last night it made some very unsettling noises and came to a stop, full of water.
The OFF/CANCEL light is blinking 8 times in repetion.
Tried unplugging to clear the alarm, but nothing.

I hold my hands up that I`ve not looked after it since I`ve had it. (13months old).

I`ve searched the net, as I`ve used it to fix my washing machine, but stuck here.

Cant find a pump to clean, (if that`s what it is) and even got it on it`s side with floor panel off.

PLEASE HELP.

Hi.
had another look at Dishwasher.
I emptied the water by hand, reset the alarm, and restarted the machine.
It ran for a while, but stopped again.
Bottom of washer has couple of inches of warm water and light started to flash 8 times.
Anyone help?
