ParticipantHi Folks,
I have done a search, honestly!
The start button on the above machine keeps flashing in a 4 flash sequence. Normally, if it flashes I clear the filters and it works OK but not this time.
Any suggestions what I should try doing?
Many thanks

Hi Tryer,
Flashing 4 LED’s indicates a drain failure on your appliance.
Possible new drain pump required or blocked. Check drain hose isn’t blocked where it attaches under sink. Switch off appliance before investigating.

Hi Spinfast; thanks for your reply.
It is a bit strange this but I’ll relate the story just in case anybody else has a similar problem.
Taking note of what you suggested I took out the bottom rack of the dishwasher and added 3 litres of water to the bottom of the dishwasher, by the filter, to see if it would empty. When I turned the control knob to the first wash (normal) setting the start button light was still flashing so I held it down and the “end” cycle started and proceeded to empty the water from the dishwasher, so the pump and drain hose were obviously OK.
When the drain had finished the flashing lamp had stopped so I pressed the start but again and the machine started the normal cycle with the “prewash”. As this continued for a minute or so I quickly loaded the bottom rack and added the dishes from the evening meal. The cycle continued all the way through and, hey presto, clean dishes.
Hopefully, this might have cured itself but I won’t find out until tomorrow’s load is ready. If problems I’ll be back 😆
Incidently, I may have confused you with the flashing lights. It wasn’t the 4 LEDs that lit up, I was referring to the lamp on the start switch which went :- blink, blink, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink, blink, pause etc. 😳 I am sure that this sequence indicates something but I cannot find any reference to it.

Spinfast was quite correct…the only fault indicator on these is the number of times the start light flashes and in this case four flashes relates to a drain failure…usually! Another cause of this is a gunged up diaphragm switch…if you lift out the filter and look at about the 3 o’clock position in the sump you will see a black grid…make sure this is clean (don’t poke a sharp object through the holes as it can rupture the diaphragm)

Hi Clive, thanks for that info.
I suppose that by pouring the water into the botton of the machine I could have cleaned the diaphragm switch to some extent which made it work again.
I’ll have a proper look at it to make sure it is OK.
