the old dog has done it again only different this time.
start button flashing & programme knob LED doesnt move off ‘normal’ when you rotate it.
holding start button in for 10 secs starts pump up for about a minute then it stops.
    any ideas?

forgot to mention that the display is blank – no error code

since i first posted this i have changed out the programme knob board as i had a good spare from the last fault (which turned out to be the board at the front/base). fault still exists.

More than likely you have the same problem again. If so the board needs inspecting to see if it is blown and where and the wiring traced to find the possible suspect that may have casued the problem in the first place (Heater, ntc etc). You really need a wiring diagram to check this.
If you do try it yourself make sure it is unplugged and note all the plugs position on the module as it is possible to re fit them in the wrong places.

for your records i am posting the solution to this problem.

the flashing start button was due to water on the drip tray triggering the polystyrene float’s micro switch.

after cleaning up & resetting, i raised the machine on bricks and started the normal cycle. within seconds i could see where the leak was coming from – a loose hose/circlip.

fixed in 2 minutes and it cost me nothing.
