    Hi

I have a problem with a whirlpool ADP2440. It fills up but does not heat or circulate the water. – and there was a slight burning smell & a humming noise.

I thought that the wash pump was maybe jammed – but it seems to turn freely. (by turning the motor fan)

So I suspect that the motor is goosed??

I had a look on the spare parts site and saw several motors but they didn’t mention the ADP2440. By the way the motor is not the cheap nasty one featured. but a german one manufacturer stats with k.

Anyway back to the point 2 questions is it worth replacing – dishwasher about 6 years old and 2 i noticed that the hose clamps are ‘crimmped’ – how do you get them off??

    Any help much appreciated

Probably the capacitor on the side of the motor, which gives it a kick to start if it fails the motor hums and gets very hot, hopefully no damage to motor windings.
Probably £15ish so worth a try part no 481212118132.
