Whirlpool ADP4403

On returning from our summer holiday our dishwasher now only takes in water the green light then starts flashing (I think it is 11 flashes then a pause, this is repeated). The machine then empties. This happens on all programs.

Any ideas as I thought my days as the main dishwasher in our house were over!! 😥

If you’re sure that it’s 11 flashes, you have a problem with the Optical Water indicator – this detects the clarity of the water in the sump area. Remove filters, drain out as much water as you can and locate the window – give it a good clean. If this makes no difference, I would suggest that you seek pro help, as this can be a complex one to diagnose. OWI, computer and wiring can all be at fault.

Definitely 11 flashes; had a look for the optical water indicator but not sure what I am looking for, what does it look like? Also, no UKW engineer in my area (RH1 postcode), where should I go if I need an engineer?
