Error code: 4 flashes, pause, 4 flashes etc. Anyone any ideas? Engineer says control board cost >£200 to repair!!! If correct can anyone recommend a new machine for around £250?

4 flashes is a draining failure. If it’s actually drained then most likely cause is the water indicator in the sump of the machine. Remove the filter and mesh filter and carefully clean out the black grid and try the machine again.

The black grid is a bit blocked with gunk, what is the best way to try and clean it?

Hot water and toothbrush. If it still won’t come clean, it’s a twist fit from underneath, then under the tap.

    Power off, of course.

Have cleaned and when turned back on the water used to clean has drained ok. It is not taking in water but the four flashes sequence is the same?

you need a new W.I. membrane switch, which is the grid switch in the sump. make sure the connections are dry as well.

Finally got working; cleaned again with almost boiling water and toothbrush. As the original engineer totally misdiagnosed the problem am I in a position to demand the 47 pounds I paid out for the duff advice??
