customer tells me the machine fills & empties stright away. I know on bosch its normally the flow meter /water regulator that causes this.
I dont have much experience on whirlpools, is it a simular set up
and the same type of issue.

check the light above the start button. count number of flashes to get fault code
yes can be flow meter reed switches fail can be got from maplin and replaced

had a w/pool dw doing similar fri.no code flashing on start button.turned out to be pressure sw on side of sump.worth trying a clean of this first before you replace.paul
