    Hi,

Our dishwasher fails to complete a wash cycle and reports error code F8. The dishes appear to be cleaned but not dry. I have done a search on the web and found a French suggestion (which translated into something to do with the water level)? Has anyone any suggestions. Have rung Whirlpool some time back who were of no help, instead suggesting we pay for an engineer. Machine broke just after 1 year of use so just out of warranty!

F8 is normally cause by the filters being blocked or the water is foaming up.
Remove the filters including the large mesh one and check that they are clean and unblocked.
Failing that you’ll need to see if it’s foaming up. If it is, check the settings for your rinse aid dispenser.

Thank you for your quick reply. Apparently my other half has checked the filters when the problem first materialised, however he will have another look when he gets a minute, hopefully very soon. Will post an update.

    Cheers,

We checked the filters and they were clean, so then turned down the Rinse Aid dispenser settings, as when it errored, there was foam in the base of the unit. This has helped, but so far the results have been mixed. On a full load, the washer stopped with F8, on a lighter load, it completed. However, it is noticeable that the dishes do not appear to be dry. Could there be a problem on the other side of the filters?

In the meantime I continue to hand wash, which is some ways is easier than loading/unloading the dishwasher!

    Many thanks,
    Suzanne
