I’ve got a Whirlpool ADP5966 which is showing an F6 error message intermittantly. That is, on a wash F6 shows, I drain the dishwasher (press and hold the start button) and then re-start the cycle. Sometimes this works and the dishes get washed other times I get the F6 again and have to repeat the process. Not too sure but I think the problem is worse when using a 6-Sense program…

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong here?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Dave

The fault E6 corresponds to a filling fault, unless you’ve got a kinked hose or tap turned off then it means you have the common problem of the flow meter.

It almost invariably means the connections to it need cleaning/remaking. It is situated on the LHS at the base of the metering tank…nice easy job for a pro (click the link below for help).

If you’re having a go yourself then don’t forget to unplug before doing anything. :zap:

    Clive, thanks for that.

Just to check, LHS looking from the front? I’ve seen the solenoid valve on the inlet here but nothing that looks like a flow meter. Any distinguishing features I should look for?

I’m guessing that as the problem occurs most frequently when using the 6-Sense programs, these are the programs that use most water and are more likely to show up a flow fault.

Yes…the flow meter is built into the metering tank near the bottom at the back and has three wires connected to it…make sure the contacts are clean (rub with a pencil rubber or very fine emery) and that the wires connect tightly to it.
