    Hi, strange dishwasher fault week….
Have a Diplomat (whirlpool) ADP8500 (8545001157400) to repair.

When you start the cycle during the drain and fill part the whole machine pulses on/off, the fill valve, drain pump and display lights pulse on/off together.

If you wait for it to fill the circ pump kicks in and it sounds fine and the display light stays on. I measured a steady 240v at the display pcb so maybe this is faulty but would this affect the drain pump and fill valve?

Found a similar fault in your archive but not any answer.
The main pcb in the base looks fine, no bad connections.

    Anyone had similar?

    Thanks
    Graeme

had similar faults like this before normaly the power supply on the pcb timer

a lot of appliances use a capacitor to drop the voltage down from 230v to 20 or so to supply electronics. As these caps get older their resistance rises causing voltage to drop. it is a similar effect to low batteries

in you scenario you turn on voltage drops electronics stall swich off and as the voltage rises switch back on again

    hope this helps
