    Hi from sunny Australia
Our 2 to 3 year old dishwasher has stopped. Makes a pumping noise for about a minute after being turned on and then the light just flashes continually. After reading on the web I thought “aha! – water inlet valve” and opened it up to track down the culprit. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look anything like the machines described on the (US) websites.
Instead of the inlet hose going to a solenoid valve it goes into a big plastic tank on the left of the machine which vents into the interior and has a further tube disappearing up to the top of the machine. There is an electrical connection but I can’t see a solenoid.
Does this appear to be fixable for a backyard mechanic, or should I recognise my limitations and send it to the service department?
    Thanks in advance, Bob
    PS Sorry about the cricket…

Assuming that your machine is a version of the Euro spec 951, continuous flashing light normally indicates a failure of the the temperature sensor, wiring or possibly the control board. The sensor is the probe sticking up through the base of the machine under the filters and should give a reading in Kohms when metered.

    Power off, of course.
