    Hi folks

Been to this today as oven not heating – suspected fan element as everything else working.

Element special order from Qualtex – Connect exorbitant price otherwise so went to make sure just element before ordering.

Remove element to check – open circuit. Put element back for safety reasons. Check everything still working but now can’t get timer to switch oven on.

Bit of a weird timer set up as you have to set oven selector and temperature and then press set on timer. Set timer after switching main isolating switch back on and double checked with user manual but sill keeps coming up with -C. According to book thats the temperature indication but oven not switching on now or grill.

Doing a search some one else has had this problem after customer had replaced element and they ended up shorting timer out.

Has anyone else had this problem before?
Keep thinking this is just a reset job if I just knew what to do or is it a Whirlpool engineer reset to stop people messing.
Surely you can’t mess timer up by just switching off mains and disconnecting element?

I don’t want to order element up if there is a timer fault as well.

    Any comments gratefully received

It will need a display board pt no is 481213018696. It is quite a common fault on that model. No reset possible I’m afraid

    Thanks for the reply Grendal

Can’t believe a board can go from just switching the oven off and on from the mains!

What crap manufacturers turn out these days.

    Thanks
