ParticipantFollowing up on the posts in the public forums re the AKZ range of ovens.
If you go to any of these ovens displaying strange and wonderfull problems like the fan (either) not working, circa element not working, display dead or not all there or any error code and you suspect the main board is at fault because you have checked the components, try the following before fitting a new board.
In the box with the new board there are instructions on cutting out resistors so that the board works with the model of oven you want to put it in. Before you fit the new board try cutting out the resistors in the old board and it will surprise you how many times this will cure the problem. I have had 6 month old ovens that are totaly dead and if you cut the resistors as per the instructions it cures the problem.
worth keeping that sheet of paper to hand as it might save you a few bob and get you a FTF into the bargain.

Could you post the instruction on this site somewhere, it save having to buy a new board to get instructions

That’s not easy bassman as the information is essentially copyrighted by Whirlpool and any reproduction could result in legal proceedings without their permission.
If any of the Whirlpool Service Partners can get the go ahead from Whirlpool the I’m happy to accept the scan and I can make this available to the trade members as a whole.
There’s so much we can do with the site were it not for the restrictions placed on us at times with tecnical information 👿

Dave is spot on about why the instructions cannot be published but if you buy one of these boards the instructions are in the box.
Then you have a set for future use.

Any particular reason these boards blow John? Went on one today, no heat on any setting, board blown at connection to oven bulb and live in. was looking forward to cutting resistors off and magicly making the thing work again after your post, but then I looked underneath 🙄

see the odd one blown but most of the time they are dead or you get the F03 fault. Don’t think I have ever saw one blow at the oven bulb connector though.
Look on the bright side Mark, if you buy a board for this one you will get the sheet with all the info 😆

Hi
I too have an F03 fault on a AKZ151/1X oven and wondered if there is any update on the “cutting out of resistors” on the original PCB as mentioned above ❓

Thanks

Thought I would just update this in the hope it may help someone in future.
As suggested above I cut out the appropriate resistors (2 and 3 in this case) and hey presto all working fine :D.
Must say I didn’t go to this job with any great confidence it would work but a pleasant surprise.
Thanks to Alan and John for their private help and advice
