Whirlpool AKZ451/1X display for grill wrong

Thought i posted this before but it didn’t go up or at least i can’t find it now.. another of our “engineers” fitted a control board for this oven, it now shows degrees in display for grill instead of 1-2-3-4 etc in display before board was changed, customer says everything works ok just display is wrong, any ideas?

From memory, I think these have to be configured by snipping the legs off resistors to match the correct oven they are fitted to as Whirlpool supply a “universal” replacement to cover a few models.

It sounds as if it’s either not been done or the wrong resistor has been taken out of circuit. There should have been a document in with the PCB.

But, this is from memory on similar models and may not be the case for this particular oven.

This appears to be one of the newer type ccu’s that dont have the links. These boards can be reprogrammed using the SAM module and it sounds like either faulty software or the wrong board fitted.

post up the 12nc number and also the part number that was fitted and I will check when I get into the office in the morning.

The part number should be 4812 310 28197 (superseded from 4812 214 58114).

John should be able to confirm if it’s the later type I hope but the 310 in the middle of a Whirlpool part number normally indicates a kit or modification 🙂

It is a modified part but the good news is that I checked one that I have in stock and this board has the resistors that need to be removed in some models.
If you fit the board without removing the resistors it will cause all kinds of wierd and wonderfull faults 😆

If you look on the the rating plate to the right side of where it says AKZ541/1X there is a number between 1 and 39 printed, If you let me know that number I can let you know what resistors to remove and this should cure the problem.

AKZ 451/1X 03 is what has been reported back to me.

In that case remove the resistors numbered 2 and 3
