ParticipantHaving problems with my fridge freezer again. The freezer is not going down to temperature and there is also ice building up at the back. Also the fridge temperature says that it is at 5 degrees but it feels warmer than that. Not got a thermostat so can’t be sure about the fridge temperature.
The water filter is working fine… no stopping and starting like it did last time. Replaced the back circuit board to correct this problem after reading about the problem on this forum about twelve months ago.

Managed to borrow a thermostat form work. The freezer temperature is 2 °C and the fridge is 20 °C. On the display the fridge temperature says 5 °C and the freezer temperature display is flashing because it’s not down to the correct temperature.
Thanks

Hi Paul.
If ice is forming on the freezer back wall then the auto defrost is not working and the evaporator behind will be iced up and no air can pass through it hence nothing is getting cold.
If you do a thorough defrost by switching off the appliance and leaving the freezer door open for at least 12 hours then switch back on it will run ok for a few days until it ices up again.
If this works then the problem will be either the defrost element packed up or the little black box on top of the evaporator which is the defrost thermostat.
Check D/F element for a resistance first and if ok then change the stat.Stat=481232058132
Element=481902188177.Tip. When changing the D/F element wear gloves as the evaporator is deadly sharp 👿

Hi
Thanks for the help. Defrosted the freezer and everything seems to be ok again. Ice doesn’t appear to be forming at the back at the moment.
Thanks

Just replaced the thermostat and didn’t check the colour of the wires to the element from the thermostat . Does anybody know which wire goes to the right hand side of the element and the left hand side of the element from the thermostat :?:. I have a blue and an orange wire.
Thanks

It doesn’t matter which way you connect them.
