Whirlpool American Collection not spinning properly HELP!!

I have an American style top loader washing machine. Can’t see a model number but it says on the front: Whirpool Gold Ultimate Care II. It was bought locally – American style, not American model.

Anyways, it all goes well until spin time, when it’s obviously not spinning hard enough. It spins and gets most of the water out, but the clothes aren’t totally spun, although there’s no water left in the drum. If I physically wring the clothes, there’s still some water coming off.

Don’t know if it’s related, but I also appear to have a leak – a little water coming from the bottom/front on fill, no leak as it’s washing. (it’s in garage, so no harm to floor done).

Any ideas that won’t cost the earth would be apprecaited!! 😆
