Update ..
managed to get the compressor to go by switching on the mains with the freezer door open. Closed the door after start up and no bleeping . Unit cooled and freezer worked .Compressor ran warm but not too hot .However , this morning the dreaded — and bleeping was back .
All caps changed on the main pcb , no scorching on the boards .
the PCbs are so damn expensive willing to give the change components a go .But which one ?time for a service engineer ?

fridge-freezer-forum/whirlpool-afb6640-freezer-alarm-t32796.html
after much searching and testing the boards a tap on relay 2 kicks the compressor in .
So it ain’t always the caps !!!!!
RELAYS REQUIRED SCHRACK T7NS5H1-24-WG-A 3 NUMBER AND RT314024 1 NUMBER .
The single controls the compressor and is a 16 amp 24v Dc .
AVAILABLE FROM CPC Farnell .
Gear on order at £5 plus P and p . Update when done.August 25, 2014 at 4:26 pm #418127Mark Davies

Done , a trip to maplin sourced a relay , its a 12v but suitable for 24 v DC coil operation . ( 16 amp 240V ac switching )
Desoldering the old one was the biggest part of the job . Replaced and all good in the world … -
