    Hi

I have a Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer – I don’t think that the basis of the problem I have is uncommon- I have seen several posts; however, the problem is slightly more complex than what I read.

I recently had the defrost element replaced after the previous one broke and tripped the whole house!

Since then though, the freezer is still not working properly not freezing and not keeping the fridge cold properly (although it works for a period after defrosting) and the new defrost element does not appear to be getting any power to it – the bulb for the freezer is also not working – I have check that the bulb works in another appliance. Does anyone know if there a fuse that needs replacing or is this more likely to be a problem with the main board?

I am currently defrosting the freezer to get rid of the huge build up of ice on the element and on the defrost element!

    Hi

It’ll either be a thermal fuse or main board. Bear in mind that both front and rear boards may need replacing.

Thank you. Can you tell me where I find the thermal fuses?

    HI

Near the heater or on top of the evaporator.
