ParticipantWe purchased this around three years ago.
Many problems.
1/ Dented doors were replaced but didn’t match the main unit, eventually sorted after 5-6 weeks.
2/ Ice maker unit failed (The freezer unit with fingers to eject the ice) – replaced under warranty, with a very hard sell to add the 8 year warranty, which I wished we took, but didn’t.
3/ 2 years in then the condenser (Capacitor) on the compressor exploded – replaced by me.
3/ About 6-8 weeks ago the unit started tripping out the ELCB (Earth leakage). PAC testing showed no fault, so I assume it was something that was being switched in occasionally. Visually checked all the circuit boards I could find and switched to a non-protected supply.
4/ Two weeks ago the IDI RCV-002 ice detection PCB blew a track off the rear (Pin 4 or the middle pin on the 7 way connctor) and destroyed the on board processor. I can only assume that either something connected the board has a serious fault or the board had a failing in the protective coating allowing moisture to short out the supply. In any event I am looking to replace the IDI RCV-002 Infra red ice detector board and looking for advice on how to prolong the life of this purchase.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes put it back on the rcd that will help prolong its life
It must have had a earth fault. What a way to fix itJack

Thank you for that, I am aware that it had an earth fault, hence my chronology above!
