Our Whirlpool fridge freezer model 3XART731GB00 failed whilst we were away on holiday. The freezer thermostat is clicking when operated and the fan is running. Every 30 seconds or so the compressor tries to start and seems to run quietly for a few seconds them stops following a slight click. It is about 12 years old and has had only one previous repair when the fan was replaced. Trying to find an engineer specialising in this make and model is difficult, none come up on uk whitegoods.co.uk site in my area, after failing to find one, I did the previous repair myself.
Does anyone have any advice on what may be the problem or should we cut any losses and buy a replacement.
