    Whirlpool 825B RWW20 – A/G. 8586 166 15002. 11 0409 14560.

The digital display shows the correct temperatures but flashes continually and a clicking relay sound can be heard. Customer said she had a fault code appear – CF ?? The filter lamp flashes as well.
Whirlpool have been to it and fitted 2 PCB’s but the fault persists. The machine is under a warranty but Whirlpool have told her it’s a write off and are about to refund her insurance payment.
Anyone had this fault before? I don’t do refrigeration these days so I’m quite surprised that such an expensive fridge freezer is a scrapper……. 😯 So any help on this would be appreciated!!

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Take off the hinge cover at the top of the freezer door and check the connections on the terminal block, that will cause the ‘CF’ and flickering if the boards are ok. Also make sure the boards are the correct ones.

    Thanks, Jackster!!

It turns out that Whirlpool refitted the original PCB’s and removed the new ones. They said there could be a wiring fault in the door but it was too expensive for them to consider fixing……. 😕
Is it the case that the whole loom needs replacing, or can a repair be done easily and without too much dismantling? I don’t particularly want to get up to my neck in an extensive repair on this, as it would be more a ‘favour’ than anything else.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

The wiring loom runs through the freezer door and out to the hinge at the top. You can get to the wiring also behind the ctrl panel at the front (take out the 2 screws under the drip tray) if the fault is within the door itself you will need a new door (expensive!) I would also check the wiring to the PCB at rear.
