    hi i have been out to this machine today and the fault is when it is turned on to any prog it pumps then fills for 3 seconds then the door lock light flashes ? the door is locked and the carbons are ok any ideas ??? thanks alan

    A poor connection in motor plug could have same effect as worn carbons. BTW should that be awm6100?

    hi thanks for your reply , i have checked the connection it ok , it does seem like a motor fault dont you think ??

    Certainly, the carbons being down do cause some Whirlpool machines to stop dead at varying points in the programme with a door lock fault indication.
    Sometimes a break in a motor wire can occur but be still holding by the insulation. This is often caused when the motor connector falls off its bracket and is able to waggle about during spin. (I hope you’re not my grandmother.)….

    (Especially as she’s been gone a very long time, God bless ‘er.)
