    Does anybody have a wiring diagram for a Whirlpool ARC2223 fridge/freezer please. I can’t figure out what the white lead connected to the light wiring at the thermostat does, it comes up from the compressor. Any help please.

    Looking at the wiring diagram the white wire goes from number 3 on the stat to a ceiling heater.

    Thanks johnmac11, at least I know what it does, now I wonder why it blew the house fuse when I connected it to the thermostat.

    Possible heater short then ?

    IIRC the other end of the heater wire goes to the compressor, disconnect both ends and see what happens. It looks like the heater is built into the insulation so is not replaceable.

    I cut it out of the system in the end, the machine is in the kitchen so the heater should never be needed, thanks for your help.[/list]
