We’ve just taken delivery of a Whirlpool ARC4170IX fridge/ freezer. The instruction manual provided states that the temperature of the refrigerator can be controlled by “turning the thermostat knob to the desired position” (i.e. min/ med/ max). However, where is this thermostat knob situated? It isn’t shown in the product description.
There is an “air circulation contol” sliding switch (ranging from – to +) (which also isn’t shown in the product description). Is this used instead to control the temperature?
I think you may have the wrong user manual or it could be a generic one that covers a few models.
The air circulation control in theory should also control the fridge temperature, I would phone Whirlpool customer service and ask for confirmation of the manual though to be honest.
Dave – Thank you for your reply. I did as you suggested and contacted Whirlpool customer services. For the record, they advised that the fridge temperature on this model is indeed controlled using the “air circulation control” sliding switch, which is located on the interior rear wall of the fridge near the light.
its also worth remembering that if the freezer temp is too low this will also make the fridge colder and not forgetting about air circulation, dont overcrowd the fridge or cover any of the air ducts over
