I’ve to do a bearing job on a Whirlpool AWG750/AL, haven’t done one of these before, are they straightforward to do, the drum has a lot of play when lifted up & is quite noisey, a lot of greasey water has leaked out from bearings & run down onto floor, normally does the spider & shaft need replacing or is it available as a spare, i take it that all the work is done from the back by removing backplate, does the seal usually need replacing, this is my first whirlpool bearing job, done hundreds of hotpoint & creda, thanks for any help in advance!

    Seamy,

Fairly straightforward job, backplate comes off with the ‘Barrel Clamp’ type fixing. If drum shaft is damaged then forget it as they are over £120 to replace but Bearing Kit readily available (Part No of genuine 481931038157 or many pattern equivalents of course).
