Whirlpool AWM 029 On/off switch

For quite a while now on this model I have had a problem with the power on/off button as you can be pressing it for ages for the power light to stop on, its like a faulty connection. The button stops in when pressed but the power doesnt come on or the light comes on and goes straight off. Also you can sometimes set it going and come back later to find it has turned itself off early in the cycle. Is it possible to replace the button or what can I do. The wife keeps kicking it which doesnt help!!

If it’s a proper on / off switch not an Electronic pushbutton then yes it is replaceable as a DIY repair, if it’s an Electronic machine with just a press button then it may be a more complicated problem than just the Tac switch being faulty.

I think its just an on/off switch as the machine controls are not electronic as you say. Is it a simple task to remove the front panel and replace the button?
