Whirlpool AWM 029 Washer

Customer said the dial on this intergrated machine keeps clicking round. When i got there, there was some water in the drum so i put it on drain and it started to drain but then stopped as the dial clicked off the programme and started to click round continuasly. I put the dial back to drain and it completely drained and stopped. After that i checked out all the components and they were ok. I removed and tightened all connections to the Hibrid timer module. After this i checked all programmes and i could not get it to click round cotinuasly again, it was working fine. The customer said it had happened a couple of times before but after restarting the programme it worked ok sometimes. Is this a timer fault? I cant see what else could cause this on this kind of timer.
Any help please.
