the above washer wont drain and spin, ive had it apart today to check for blockage and it seems fine the brushes have plenty of life in them too.

its always been a nuisance not going through cycles but mostly ok. i presume it wont spin cos it cant drain as it has a sensor im happy to buy a new pump as installation is simple if it really is the fault given that the water temperature is at an all time high im confused even on a cold wash, when it comes to draining i can hear the pump making a grinding noise but just not letting the water out as if it cant syphon cos of air leak or something. im gonna open the flap to see if the impeller can turn or not.

im gonna take it apart again now a look for any scale or bad solder joints as has been suggested on other posts.
please could someone help as nearly every item in the house is held together with gaffa tape or the other ready to ‘give on me all at once!

    cheers guys

    UPDATE

ive took the cover on the filter off whilst it drains and the impeller does turn, something i didnt mention was that whilst on the drain function i can open the door which it shouldnt allow me and that i cant whilst it does another cycle.

im now gonna check for blockage again on the pipe from the drum to the pump filter housing.
