I have a Whirlpool awm 5125 that’s developed a fault (or 2). The motor was making a kind of ‘sparking’ noise when running and now won’t turn at all. I think this could be the brushes on the motor.

However, the machine also refuses to fill. The only thing I can get it to do is run the drain pump. Surely knackered motor brushes wouldn’t inhibit the fill cycle?

Is it time for my machine to go to wahing machine heaven? Many thanks for any advice offered.

    Shaun.

first thing the machine checks is the motor

Thanks Helo_75, you may have just saved me spending on a new machine 🙂

I’ll nip to my local parts place tomorrow and order a set of brushes.

Got a set of brushes (£24 the robbing git!) and installed them today. The washer works fine again. Thanks again for the advice Helo_75.
