    Hi

I have a Whirlpool washing machine model AWM 822 (857082215030) with
    A1 D23 control unit.

The machine completes all cycles perfectly until it reaches spin. It
pre-spins for a short period of time then stops. The timer motor stops at the same time (no voltage). The pump continues and empties the drum and keeps pumping. The machine remains in this state until switched off.
Manually advancing the timer has no effect and does not start fast spin.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

    Thank you

Water level control switch or associated hydraulic circuit not functioning properly would be my first thought.

    Power off if investigating.

    Hi Penguin45

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the high and low water level switches, they are working perfectly. Do you have any further suggestions.

    Thanks

More or less got to be the timer unit, then. Part number was 4812 282 18632, but now coming up as obsolete. Time to move on………

    Hi Penguin45

Thanks for your message. You are spot on, I have examined the timer and can see that the nylon triangel situated half way along the contact strip has worn away on contact 10- 40. (No closed circuit reading when timer is rotated).
Many thanks for your help with this matter, it is nice to know that the machine is not repairable.
