My washing machine has decided to stop mid-cycle… seems to fill and wash OK, but just stops when it gets to the spin bit. I did notice a sort of clunking noise the other day which sounded horribly like the drum was coming loose. Not sure if this is related or not, but the power button seems to be a bit temperamental too – you have to press it in at a slight angle or it won’t turn on.

    I love my machine, really…

Any advice would be hugely appreciated! 😕

    Water still in it?

Yes, a little water still in. Not the full amount, but definitely some (you can open the door without it spilling out). I’ve checked the filter and the pipe where it drains into the u-bend, and they’re clear.

Select spin with the filter removed and see if the pump actually runs.

Nothing happens at all – water comes in and some of it drains away but the drum doesn’t move…
