ParticipantHi there,
I have a Whirlpool AWM347 and all of a sudden it tripped the fuse and now when re connected it does not want to work!
I have power to the machine as the power light is on, but nothing happens once a programme is selected.
I have taken the door lock off and stripped it down and found that it is blackened inside and part of one of the terminals inside the switch has been melted. I assume this is what caused the problem.

It is the burgandy bit i need to replace, i cant find the relevant door lock on the parts page. Its a 3 terminal Rold DA060. The black holder is fine so i only really need the burgandy bit.
Anyone got any ideas?
These are the nearest ones to what im after but from what i can make out in the piccy the black holder is not the same.

Can anyone ID the burgandy bit as being the same as the one i have? I can see that none of them have the proviles edge where the male plug would plug in but i can get round that. Its a 6 year old machine and i just need to eek out its life as cheaply as possible as i have just moved house and am what you might call skint! lol
Much appreciatedJanuary 10, 2007 at 2:02 am #200101Penguin45

P/no 4812 280 58044. If it’s not in the shop@ facility, an email with the part number to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.
It may well come with an auxillary switch mounted on the lock – ignore it.

Penguin,
I ordered the switch an it has arrived but it has got more than the 3 terminals on the original. I think the plug will still fit in onto 3 of the terminals.
Is this the right switch? The mounting etc looks the same.
If its ok i will fit it and see if it cures it or not.
thanks

The plug can only be fitted in one position.
