Whirlpool AWM5125/3 Constantly draining

Hi,
Our Whirlpool washer seems to be stuck on the empty cycle. My wife turned it on at night and it was still running when we got up the next morning. The drain pump is constantly running, though there is no water in the machine (I have chacked the pump is clear).

My guess is that there is a water level sensor somewhere that is not working correctly, so the machine will not move on the the next cycle.

Is this repairable?

I think I may have given wrong info. After trying the machine again, it seems that it gets stuck on the spin cycles ( B and C), and the programme dial does not move on.(the motor in the dial works, because if i misalign it, it will move itself to the correct position). It will go through a spin cycle, stop for 10 seconds, then do it again. Seems I may need a new programme dial?
