Hello,
If I add softnener in at the start of the automatic cycle it seems to disappear early? It’s meant to be taken at programme A, am I meant to stand and wait for prog A to come up before I add it??

Not at all, in fact there are 2 possibilities that this is happening : –
1) You may be overfilling the fabric cond compartment and it’s syphoning out the moment you shut the soap drawer?
2) The multi-point water inlet nozzle on the top of the dispenser unit may well need cleaning, descaling and adjusting?
Usually it’s the latter and you may be best advised to seek the help of a local engineer to service it for you. 😀
