whirlpool AWO 3551 error code F9

hi all
ive got a problem with this machine….error code f9 appears after about 5 miniutes…it takes in water fine,tumbles around then stops… there was a def problem just before this first occurred in that the stand pipe was totally blocked up and had been for quite a while.. hence the bubbling up of lino
!! ive read on another thread that error code f9 relates to water level..so can any one give me a pointer as to what i could do to reset this?!

Helpfully, Whirlpool simply say that this means “overflow”. 😕

Logically that means that the machine has detected an overfill condition and that the pressure switch or sensor has been held open making the machine think that there’s too much water in there.

There’s a few reasons that this could happen, faulty pressure sensor, faulty electronics (far less likely TBH) or there’s too much foam produced that gives the sensor a false reading. I’d say you have a good chance that it’s one of those three things but, which one, I can’t tell you.
