    Hi,
Washer found dead on arrival, el. supply ok, so I am betting on a door lock. However a whirlpool techn told me the door locks on these machines are rarely a problem and it is more often than not a timer problem.

    The lock is a 3 pin connection type i.e terminals labelled 3, 45, 6.
Question: What pins are Live and Neutral and is Switch the 45 pin?

In the unlocked position I have continuity between 3 and 6 and open cct between 3 and 45 and open cct between 45 and 6.

In the locked position I have the same; I therefore assumed the lock is faulty because pin 45 remains open cct in relation to pins 3 and 6.

Is my rationale correct and has anyone come across something similar?
    Many thanks,
    Conor!

PS Is this door lock mechanical or electronic in operation? I ask because when disassembled I couldn’t see anything mechanical in its operation.
    Ta very much!!!

Could be resistor R020 on the control board.
    It’s a 22ohm 2watt wirewound.
I’ve had a few do this.

Open circuit heater has same effect, IIRC.
