Whirlpool AWOD5526 washing machine with F08 error.

Customers Whirlpool AWOD 5526 made in 2008 has stopped running and shows F08 on the read out? Pump runs on drain cycle ok but there is no movement on the drive motor at all. You cannot get the motor to rotate in spin cycle.
Is the error F08 heater element blown but I would have thought at least the motor would rotate in the spin cycle? You can hear a click of a relay on the PCB module.

Any ideas on what to go for first with this one chaps.

Yep, heater will cause all sorts of random faults on these. Swap it out and it should be OK.

    HTH,

    Steve.

    Thanks Steve

Will be having a look on Monday to see if the element has blown.
Otherwise will be looking at the main module in the washer.
Was thinking of the Bosch problem when the pcb relay track burns out nicely and then you play with a sodering iron and some motherboard wire.

    Thanks for the advice

    Spot on Steve

Heating element had blown and ordered one from UK Whitegoods.
Still surprised it screws up any other cycle like spin?
    Thanks again.
