Help – my tumble dryer was blowing cold air and after searching through this forum I came to the conclusion that the heater element was bust so ordered a new one from the shop linked to this site(KUA)

Easily fitted but still only cold air – any suggestions

Goodness! Well then, one needs to establish if power is being supplied to the elements in the first instant? If not then it’s either the exhaust stat is open circuit (very likely) or the timer at fault.

Having said that, these tests should only be carried out by an experienced electrician with knowledge of this appliance. Therefore I advise contacting a local engineer to sort it for you! (see link below 😉 )

make sure u check for the thermostat on front
    4812 271 28369 part number
u need to unplugg the dryer from power
remove backplate – another backplate – drum
once u done that u see on front a small thermothat with 2 wires thats the one
    good luck
ik u need the service number for whirlpool 🙂 😉

    Hi
I couldn’t resist trying – managed to bypass the exhaust stat and it now works, so that must have been the problem. Do you have on of these in stock

    Many thanks

Don’t think it’s in the shop@ facility – drop an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with the part number and the spares wizard will get you one pretty sharpish.

Im glad you have found the problem. Can I just offer some safety advice, please do not operate your appliance with that thermostat shorted out; as tempting as it is, it is there for your safety. 😉

    Thanks

    It is now 😀

I thought I’d added that one to be honest 😕

This is the thermostat you need 😉

    Dave.
