ParticipantGot a bit of a head scratcher here!
Practically brand new machine less than a year old, acquired by a local builder from a house being refitted out so guarantee is void. Has only done just 4 washes in its entire life, now the motor not turning (either/wash or spin). The motor checks out fine, so too the connections to it. The module physically looks OK, so do the connections too and from it.
I suspect it must be the Module, unfortunately it is expensive to buy, out of stock and special order from the wholesalers. Does anyone of you Whirlpool whiz kids have any thoughts about my diagnosis as I don’t want to waste my money on a wild Module chase!

It’s almost certainly the module, part number has been superseded to 4812 214 58074 @ 72.26 ex vat from Whirlpool.
I can order it for you from them if you want and send it with the armatures, w/pool normally 4-5 working days from order date.
Dave.

Yes I think it must be a duff Module, but don’t worry about ordering it at this stage as my customer is dithering anyway!
Go for the armatures though! Thanks!

Thanks dave,
It would be a nice reference point for us to have a weblink/contact address for these companies. I recall months back e-mailing John at HJM (who don’t have a website by the way) and never got a reply to my request for them to register their interest in this site!
Probably making too much money soldering new resistors on module boards anyhow to bother!

Hmmm. Just a thought this mind you………………
Why’s the warranty null and void? Engineer only needs the original date of sale (receipt) or if no receipt available he can check age of machine from the two 12 digit numbers. If the date code is within 12 months Whirlpool will do warranty repair.April 5, 2004 at 10:26 pm #110472kwatt
KeymasterEMW have added a link now to the “Weblinks” section to their website where all the info is available as well as tech support.
Just FYI
