Whirlpool AWZ541

Hiya,
Had a mate on the phone today trying to change the door/start switch on one of these.
He couldn’t follow the instruction sheet and I wasn’t able to help him as I don’t have the sheet.
Checked previous posts here but the only similar one was never answered.
Does anyone have a better guide than the one Whirlpool supply.

The mod sheet list the following change of connections using the bundled wiring loom of eight wires:

A1 to SST.2 which is the Start Switch. I’m assuming A1 on the timer.

A10 to DT.b1 What is DT.b1 ?

B5 to DT.A0 what is DT.A0

C3 to SD2 which is the Start switch

DT.a to SST 3 which is Door Switch. Where is DT.a?

DT.b1 to SD1 which is Door switch . Where is DT.b1?

I’ve looked at the original wiring diagram but it’s no help as this DT isn’t mentioned on there either.

Any ideas? Help? Better information?

IIRC the mod only applies if the old switch has a solenoid on it ?

That’s the one John. He actually called me looking for the solenoid.
I’ve had a quick look online and the wiring diagram doesn’t make a lot of sense. 😕

This is one of these jobs that you have to look at to suss it out, I seem to remember that most of the wires in the kit get binned and dont know anyone who has done the job as per the diagram.

Thinking back you have to bring the live direct to the double pole start switch instead of the timer, then from the switch back to the original timer connection.

The nuetral wire comes off the timer and goes through the door switch, up to the start switch and back to the original terminal on the timer.

The part that is a bit vague is I recall that there was a loop fitted on the timer but after staring at the diagram for the past 10 minutes I cant suss it out.
