ParticipantHad a real problem with Whirlpool UK today, I used to work for this company when it was Philips then became Philips/Whirlpool and finally Whirlpool, in those days we had a great engineering team and good management in the service centre with training second to none.
Well we have a Whirlpool Condenser Dryer model AWZ541/3 which requires a new start switch assembly and ordered it down from Connect.
There is a mod sheet in with this part the instruction which is to convert the dryer from the original start arrangment to the new one. This sheet is as much good as a chocolate fireplace and even with the wiring chart from Sios we cannot make head nor tale of this mod. Has anyone here either got further info or done the job before.
The mod sheet list the following change of connections using the bundled wiring loom of eight wires:
A1 to SST.2 which is the Start Switch
A10 to DT.b1 what is DT.b1 ?
B5 to DT.A0 what is DT.A0
C3 to SD2 which is the Start switch
DT.a to SST 3 which is Door Switch
DT.b1 to SD1 which is Door switch
The timer fitted to the machine in question is 4619 710 2651 ( 5) the photocopy mod sheet throws no light on how this mod is done.
On top of this the Whirlpool people were absoulutely bloody rude when I called them earlier today and the guy in there customer service was a complete **** hole, he had the cheek to suggest that perhaps the part should be fitted a suitably trained person !!!!!
Ha Ha Ha ! I made short work of him when I told him that I was previously employed by Whirlpool as a Field Engineer for eight years at the time completing 12 or 13 calls per day and there was no problem of suitablity then !
He then threw the phone down on me ! At first I was mad, but suddenly I remebered exactly why I left Whirlpool UK, it was because they started employing dicks like him who had NO idea how to run a service operation let alone how to treat the then skilled workforce of engineers who they thought they had scrapped of their shoes and could throw around as they pleased.
