Donny,
Most likely you will need a replacement ‘Thermostat Kit’ (Part No 4812 259 28681) and may well be available in our “Shop@” shortly?

Added 😀

Please bear in mind, although this is very likely the fault, it could also be the heater or one other thermostat.
If you’re unsure, check in the directories for an engineer 😉

Hi
My Whirlpool has exactly the same fault and the Filter light is on permanently.
The condenser had gotten clogged with fluff as we did not clean it regularly.
Do I need to buy the thermostat kit too and does this mean I have to take the rear panel off to replace it?

It is entirely possible that the thermostats have failed, it is equally possible that the heater itself has failed. Rather than taking the chance of wasting your money, you should test these components (or have them tested). The thermostats should read very near to 0 ohms, the heater 20-30 ohms when split from the electrical circuit.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first. :plug:

I have opened it up and confirm that it is the thermostats in question as they have burnt out.
I have ordered a set.
Thanks for such a great website.

Reference These Whirlpool Dryers We Have Come Across That It Is Best To Change Heater & Stats As About Three Months Down The Line The Stats Give Up The Hope Again
Heater = 481925928679
Even Though You Could Just Change Stats I Myself Have Found It Goes For Ages After If You Change Both At The Same Time.
Some More Info Is Available By Whirlpool Technical Or Contact Me.
