KeymasterMy Whirlpool AWZ 650 is blowing cold air and not heating at all but still turns.
I have cleaned out all the filters, no dust or anything anywhere.
I did have one other problem with the door, once it was drying and got hot, it used to stop and I had to put something up against it to keep the dryer going but I solved that one by taping some tape around the catch on the inside of the top of the door!
Can you help at all?
Kind regards 🙁February 22, 2005 at 11:22 am #126801Martin

Mrs H
You will need to replace the Thermostat Kit I would expect, that is the most common reason 😉
Replacements available here : –

It’s working now. 😀
Also, can I purchase a new door lock, the door doesn’t seem to hold shut!
It can be either the prong on the top of the inside of the door or the actual door lock
Please can you advise?
Kind regards

The door latch plate(on the cabinet) is part no : 481227138354 and the male door probe (on the door itself) is part no: 481241728039
……both available by emailing (copy & paste these details of course) to : spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Yes!
Either the Safety thermostat (part of the kit you fitted) has gone again through misuse (i.e. Not using Cool-down part of cycle?) or the actual element has not gone open circuit (the most common thing to happen) or finally you haven’t wired the terminals securely and ones come off?
One of those answers should cover it I expect 8)

Thanks Marti for the advise.
When i removed the back cover the wires were totally burnt out on the Thermostat Kit, can’t understand it really as they were fitted correctly.
would it be best to call out an engineer?thanking you in advance.

If the connectors on the wiring terminals were burnt or a loose fit, heat will be generated by arcing as the wires carry the full current to the heating elements. The wires will have to be remade with sound clean connections. Check out http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … ineer.html for an engineer in your area.
Unplug power before checking.Simon.
