    Hi all,
I’ve had a look through the forum but haven’t seen this already posted so…

Have a Whirlpool AZB 8680, 6th Sense 8Kg Condenser Tumble Dryer.
Not even 2 years old.. stopped working abruptly this afternoon with an error code F02. 😯

Whirlpool very kindly offered me a years warranty package for 180quid to fix this for me, but did tell me that F02 reports an EPROM error. i.e. new control board please.
To be frank, I’m not convinced this is the problem.
Can anyone confirm or deny this, please, before I shell out for a new controller board?
    Many thanks in advance.

F02 is a corrupt control board software problem and the control board retails for about £140 so is by no means cheap.

You could try to reset the control board by doing the following:

    1) Turn the selector to the six o’clock position
    2) push start button 3 times
    3) turn selector clockwise one position to airing program
    4) push start button 3 times

Then try it again, if this doesn’t work then it will need a new control board

Hi John, thanks for the quick reply – appreciated.
yep, have tried reseting the board by that method, but with no luck.

Given that the dryer wasn’t the cheapest and isn’t even two years old, I was thinking that replacing the control board might be the best option. Before taking that step, I was hoping for some confidence that it was indeed the board and not a sensor.
    Or a blocked drain pipe!
    cheers, Ian
